Coach House

This is an existing Georgian coach house built during the picturesque movement, which housed horses and coaches on the ground floor with living accommodation, originally for the coachmen above.

The Owners live in the adjacent house and wanted to sensitively update the empty upper floor accommodation, whilst retaining the stables and garage on the ground floor.

In the rear bay there is the new bedroom, at the top of the winder stair we fitted the Kitchen and shower room, while the sitting and eating space is in the large front bay.

The roof, walls and floors were insulated and the whole coach house carefully repaired.

To provide more light into the top floor, glazed doors where put into the high level door openings and the original boarded doors are held in the open position.
