Historic Recordings

Local Council’s now commonly require listed building owners to have a historic building recorder to undertake a report of the buildings history and construction. This will include phases of build, the buildings significances and heritage values, an impact assessment of any proposals and conservation policies. A recording will usually be required either before any proposals are considered in the case of grade 1 and 2* or to support a listed building application or condition in the case of grade 2.

We can provide a historic building recording of you house or structure which starts with a drawn and photographic survey including plans and elevations and involves historical research, maps and detailed written description. Our Archaeological and historic reports are based on English Heritage’s “Understanding Historic Buildings: Policy and Guidance for Local Planning Authorities.
